of activities with links to programs:
Greater Baltimore Urban League (GBUL) seeks to improve the socio-economic conditions and quality of life for African Americans and other minorities in
the following five areas of concern:
Employment
-- GBUL provides job placement and
customized employment services for diverse populations in the Baltimore
metropolitan area, including a interactive computerized career center.
Technology --
GBUL bridge the digital
divide throughout Baltimore by connecting adults and children in low-income
communities to the information highway and educational
technology.
Urban Youth Empowerment --
GBUL reconnect youth placed at risk
to education via career exploration and training. The
Young Entrpreneurs Institute teaches high school students what it takes to own and operate their businesses
using textbooks, role play, interactive games, speakers and more.
The Youth Department provides programs that enhance the abilities of
our “Future Leaders.” This department serves as a hub of resources and programs
with in the African American Community.
Housing --
GBUL provides counseling for potential home buyers and persons at
risk of losing their homes and in need of rental assistance, including seniors.

Seminar --
helps would-be homebuyers better understand
the process of buying a home. Environmental & Transportation
-- GBUL promotes
environment and transportation policies, and to place low-income and minority
groups into highway construction and transportation
jobs.
